A hot topic that has been going on for many years is regarding cell phone
danger. The question is whether cell phones are really safe or do they emit
radiation that has the potential to cause many health problems. Impartial
scientific studies have been done around the world that link excessive mobile
phone use to brain and salivary gland tumors and cancer, Alzheimer’s disease,
Leukemia, headaches, hearing loss, and even a decrease in sperm count and
mobility. It appears that most studies that show that cell phones are safe are
either done by the telecommunications industry or various governmental agencies.
An increasing concern is the use of cell phones by children and teens. Their
brain and nervous system is not fully developed until around the age of 20 which
makes them more vulnerable to electromagnetic waves and radio frequency
radiation. Young people especially like to be on the phone for long periods of
time which adds to the problem.
I have listed below some things you can do to help offset the potential
damaging effects of cell phone use.
  • Text instead of talking. It keeps the phone away from your ear.
  • Limit the amount of time on the phone.
  • Using your speakerphone instead of putting the phone to your ear will
    help tremendously.
  • Do not use your phone when your signal is weak. When the signal is weak
    your phone works harder to keep you connected which increases the potential
    danger.

    against the radiation.
  • Keep the phone away from your body when not in use. I know this can be
    hard, but it is a smart move.
