Huawei M615 Pillar, a Basic Messaging Phone for Cricket Wireless

Targeting for those messaging lover but don’t want to be bother by the complexity of smartphone, Huawei released its basic messaging phone namely Huawei M615 Pillar for Cricket Wireless.  As a basic phone, surely Pillar comes with basic features as well. Huawei M615 Pillar comes as a feature phone with full portrait QWERTY keyboard. The dimension of the phone comes at 109.2 x 61 x 12.7 mm along with its 99 grams weight. The display on the front side features 2.0 inches TFT screen with a respectable 320 x 480 pixels resolution. Below the screen is navigation array and full QWERTY keyboard arranged in four rows and portrait mode. The back side is resided by camera lens and speakerphone.

Huawei M615 Pillar runs on Cricket’s CDMA network and supports CDMA2000 1x up to 153 Kbps data network. To browse internet, Pillar is equipped by built-in web browser supports WAP 2.0 or xHTML web pages. Pillar also comes with other connectivity such as Bluetooth with A2DP and micro USB connection. There is also GPS navigation system supports A-GPS.

Huawei M615 Pillar is also equipped by camera but it comes with limited features. The camera only features in 0.3 megapixel VGA camera with no autofocus and no flash. However, it manages to capture images up to 640 x 480 pixels resolution. Sadly, the camera can only capture images and cannot be functioned to record video. To store data, Pillar provides additional external memory via microSD card up to 16 GB only along with its internal memory. As a basic phone, the multimedia also comes as a basic one. Those messaging features that are provided include text messaging (SMS) and multimedia messaging (MMS), Instant Messaging (IM) and Email. There is no stand-alone email client provided but you can still access email by opening your email account through web browser. Pillar also comes with 1.000 entries of Phonebook where each may consist of multiple phone number, photo caller ID, ringtone ID and other related information. Organizer features include Calendar, Alarm, and Calculator. Notification types coming to Pillar are Polyphonic ringtones, Vibration mode, and Silent mode. Other basic features are speakerphone, voice recorder, voice memo, and games. Another disappointment also comes at the battery that equips Huawei M615 Pillar. The battery only comes in standard battery Li-Ion 900 mAh. In average, it manages to last up to 4 hours 30 minutes of talk time or 240 hours of standby time.
