Following the success of original Wildfire, HTC came back with its new Wildfire’s line in smaller packages namely HTC Wildfire S. Some of its features are 600 MHz processor, Android Gingerbread OS, 3.2 inches touchscreen, 5 megapixels camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and many more. In details, let us have a look at the review of Wildfire S below.

HTC Wildfire S comes as a full touchscreen and a candybar design with rounded edges. It feels small and light on hand measuring 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm and weighing 105 grams. Located on the front side is 3.2 inches capacitive touchscreen that employs 256K colors and 320 x 480 pixels resolution. The screen is also supported by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Right below the screen are four capacitive keys represent Home, Menu, Back and Search functions. Around the phone’s side, there are volume rocker keys, microUSB port, power key and 3.5 mm headset jack. On the backside, there are camera lens, LED flash and speakerphone.

HTC Wildfire S is a smartphone operates on Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 2.1 User Interface. It comes with seven different pages of Home screen that can be customized with widgets or shortcuts. Under the hood, 600 MHz ARM 11 Qualcomm processor powers Wildfire S along with 512 MB of ROM and 512 MB of RAM. It may not the most powerful processor, but it is good enough delivering smooth and responsive performance of common uses of the smartphone.

In term of connectivity, Wildfire S works under GSM network and already supports HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 384 Kbps data network. Browsing internet is done using native Gingerbread browser with HTML web pages supports. Other connectivity available includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth and microUSB v2.0 connection as well as GPS navigation system with A-GPS support. Coming to messaging features, there are SMS (threaded view), MMS, IM, Email, and Push Email. You can also stay in touch with your friends through SNS integration.  For text input, Wildfire provides on screen virtual QWERTY keyboard that come on both landscape and portrait view.

HTC Wildfire S is also equipped by 5 megapixels camera with autofocus and LED flash. It manages to capture images up to 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution in great qualities. It can also be functioned as a camcorder to record video but limited on VGA resolution at 24 fps. For storage, Wildfire S provides 100 MB internal memory and additional 2 GB external memory (expendable up to 32 GB). In multimedia features, there are music player and video player as well as Stereo FM radio with RDS. The music player manages to play music of MP3/AAC+/WAV formats while the video player supports Xvid/MP4/H.264 video formats.

Other features include pre-loaded Google service applications, organizer, voice memo, Java MIDP emulator, Accelerometer, and Speakerphone. For battery, HTC Wildfire S comes with standard battery Li-Ion 1230 mAh that can last up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 15 days of standby time.
